Iraida Noriega began singing with her father pianist and singer Freddy Noriega. She studied in New York with Sheila Jordan, Mimi Daitz and Bob Norton. Then continues her vocal training with Ricardo Sánchez. Iraida has released the following CD's: Efecto Mariposa (2001), Viaje de Mar (2003), Soliluna with singer Magos Herrera (2006) and Así era Entonces… Ahora with Zinco Big Band (2006).
She is currently working on her following CD with pianist Nicolas Santella, Israel Cupich on double bass, Tavo Nandayapa on Drums, Miguel Alcérreca on vibes and vocalists Paulina Fuentes and Tania Guzman. Iraida is considered one of the best Mexican jazz singers.
She has unique voice, and through her compositions and arrangements she brings together a variety of musical and literary backgrounds in her own intense and personal way.
